HERKIMER — Joelle Hook was skeptical as she waited to have her fortune read Tuesday afternoon at Herkimer County Community College’s Psychic Fair.
But the Mohawk resident and campus book store employee still had a few questions she was hoping to have answered.
“I want to ask if I am going to be successful, and if I’m going to be happy in the next five years,” the 20-year-old explained.
The fair is an annual event conducted around Halloween time.
“It’s a tradition,” said Vicki Brown, director of student activities.
Brown and Assistant Director of Student Affairs Bonnie Wheeler worked the sign-in table Tuesday, but admitted they got a reading beforehand.
“It was kind of interesting because you don’t expect them to say what they are going to say,” Brown said.
The psychics were a group called For Goodness Sake from Sodus, which is a little more than one hour west of Syracuse.
Judy Faso, owner of the business and intuitive counselor, took a break from giving readings to explain the group travels around the state participating in
events such as the Psychic Fair.
Faso said the most common questions she hears from the college-age group involves marriage and careers.
“But sometimes people just want to hear what I have to tell them,” she said.
