After impressive regular seasons, both Whitesboro’s and Clinton’s boys soccer teams will enter this year’s Section III playoffs as No. 2 seeds.

In Class A, state-ranked No. 22 Whitesboro (11-3-2) will host the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal matchup between No. 7 Fulton (8-7) and No. 10 Carthage (7-8-1).

No. 8 New Hartford (8-6-2) will host No. 9 Christian Brothers Academy (9-6-1) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner of that game will face top-seeded Fowler (13-2-1) in Friday’s semifinal at Fowler High School.

The Class A semifinals are set for Oct. 30 at Liverpool High School, and the final will be played on Nov. 2. The location for the section final has not been set.

In Class B, Clinton (15-1) – ranked fourth in the latest state polls – will host No. 15 Mount Markham (6-9) at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. No. 16 Holland Patent (5-11) will travel to top-seeded General Brown (14-1-1) for a 6:30 p.m. matchup on Wednesday.

No. 13 Oneida (5-10) will travel to No. 4 Westhill (11-2-3) for a 6:30 p.m. matchup on Tuesday, and 10th-seeded Camden will play No. 7 Mexico (8-5-3) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mexico High School. No. 11 Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (6-9-1) will face sixth-seeded Skaneateles (11-5) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Class B quarterfinals will be Friday at the higher seed, the semifinals will be on Oct. 30 at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and the section final will be Nov. 4 at Fayetteville-Manlius High School.

In Class AA, No. 3-seeded Proctor (11-3-2) will host No. 6 Henninger (6-8-2) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, and No. 8 Rome Free Academy (9-7) will travel to face top-seeded Baldwinsville (15-0-1).

The Class AA semifinals are scheduled for Oct. 30 at Jamesville-DeWitt High School, and the final will be played at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.

In Class C, fourth-seeded Westmoreland/Oriskany will host No. 13 Cooperstown (6-8-2) – last season’s Class C runner-up – at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and fifth-seeded Sherburne-Earlville (7-8-1) is set to host No. 12 Tully (5-9-2) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Eighth-seeded Sauquoit Valley (10-5-1) and No. 9 West Canada Valley (7-6-2) will play at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Sauquoit Valley High School. Sixth-seeded Waterville (12-3-1) will host No. 11 Beaver River (7-9) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and No. 10 Herkimer (7-6-2) will travel to No. 7-seeded Thousand Islands (10-6) for a 6:30 p.m. matchup on Wednesday.

The Class C quarterfinals will be played on Friday and will be hosted by the team with the higher seed. The semifinals will be played on Oct. 30 at VVS High School, and the section finals will be on Nov. 5 at VVS High School.

In Class D, third-seeded Poland (13-3) – last year’s Class D runner-up – will host No. 14 LaFargeville (7-8) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and No. 13 Hamilton (5-8-3) will head to fourth-seeded Manlius-Pebble Hill (11-4) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Friday’s Class D quarterfinals will be hosted by the team with the higher seed, the semifinals will be played on Oct. 29 at VVS High School, and the section finals will be on Nov. 5 at VVS High School.
