COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – The undefeated Cooperstown Hawkeyes trailed at halftime at home Thursday but rallied to beat Herkimer 71-61 and extend their season-opening winning streak to 14 games.

Jack Lambert had 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Noah Lifgren scored 17 points, and John Kennedy had a double-double as Cooperstown (14-0) beat Herkimer (7-7) for the second time this season. Kennedy scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

Mardoni Laguerre scored 25 points to lead three Magicians in double figures. Dylan Lyle scored 15 points, and Jordyn Lanaux had 13.

Herkimer led 37-34 after scoring 20 points in the second quarter but had only nine in the third when Cooperstown pulled ahead. The Hawkeyes outscored the Magicians 37-24 in the second half.
