New Hartford High School's Kaia Henderson really outdid herself – again.

The freshman guard who earlier this season raised her career point total to 1,000 on Saturday broke her own single-game school record when she poured in 42 points in New Hartford's 61-46 nonleague victory over Peru Central.

Henderson, who back on Nov. 28 broke Amanda Cavo's school record when she scored 41 points in a 63-44 win over Henninger High School, also had six 3-pointers on Saturday. She is leading all of Section III with her 29.6 points per game and she has raised her career total to 1,145 points.

It was the fifth straight win for New Hartford's Spartans, 10-1 overall and ranked 25th in the latest Class A state poll.

New Hartford hosts Tri Valley League rival Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Tuesday night.

• In boys basketball Saturday, Treijen Garrett scored 26 points, Jaylen Warmack had 18 and Patrick Espinosa added 17 to lead Notre Dame High School to a 76-69 nonleague win over Bishop Kearney of Rochester.

• In another nonleague boys basketball game, a 3-pointer by Hamilton Central's Sean Hunt forced overtime, but the Emerald Knights' upset bid fell just short when Ben Barnes made a last-second 3 that gave state-ranked No. 6 DeRuyter a 47-44 win. Hunt finished with 19 points and Ryan Rutledge had 14 for Hamilton, now 9-4 overall.
