WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. – Chittenango went unbeaten in round robin play Saturday and defeated the host school 2-0 in the championship round to win the Mt. Markham Tournament title.

Chittenango’s Bears went 7-0 in competition among eight teams while Mt. Markham and East Syracuse-Minoa both finished 5-2. Mt. Markham beat East Syracuse-Minoa 25-21, 26-24 in the semifinals while Chittenango took two of three games against fourth-place Rome Free Academy.

In the best-of-three final, Chittenango defeated Mt. Markham 25-18, 25-22.

Rome Free Academy went 4-3 in round robin play. Morrisville-Eaton (3-4), Oneida (2-5), Cooperstown (2-5) and Holland Patent (0-7) rounded out the field.

The tournament’s all-star selections included Mt. Markham’s Stephanie Burke and Jordan Treen, Chittenango’s Tyla Cutrie and Savannah Penoyer, East Syracuse-Minoa’s Riley Abbott, Rome Free Academy’s Giannah Gulliano, Morrisville-Eaton’s Kady Warner, Oneida’s Jamie Jones, Cooperstown’s Kaitlin Curtis, and Holland Patent’s Emily Boulerice.
