UTICA - Cameron Johnson and Trent Adamson combined for 40 points and the Thomas R. Proctor High School boys basketball team edged Tri Valley League rival Notre Dame 72-67 on Tuesday night.

Johnson scored 22 points and Adamson finished with 18 for the Raiders, who outscored Notre Dame 23-6 in the second quarter and led 40-24 at halftime.

Notre Dame came roaring back in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 26-11 in the period to cut Proctor's lead to 51-50. The Raiders, though, pulled out the victory and evened their record at 5-5.

Tajmere Phillips (12 points) and Havierre Green (10) gave Proctor four scorers in double figures.

Notre Dame senior guard Jaylen Warmack led all scorers with 27 points. Treijen Garrett added 20 points for the Jugglers, now 6-4 overall.

• Jacob Schoff led four Central Valley Academy scorers in double figures with 21 points as the Thunder beat Oneida 73-53 in a TVL game. Brennan Seymour scored 17 points, Luke Tulloch added 12 and Brennan Murray had 10 for CVA. Oneida's Vinny Leibl scored 15 points.

• Cooperstown, ranked second in the state in the Class C poll, improved to 13-0 with an 81-50 Center State Conference victory over Westmoreland. Cooperstown's Jack Lambert scored the first 13 points of the game and finished with 24. John Kennedy added 12 points, Noah Lifgren scored 11 and Calvin Sandler had seven assists for the Hawkeyes. David Piersall led Westmoreland with 19 points.

• Aaron Warcup's 17 points and 12 rebounds led Oriskany (9-3) to a 79-60 win over New York Mills in a CSC crossover. Steve Armstrong added 14 points and Matt Enos had 12 points, nine assists and five steals. Logan Copperwheat scored 24 points for the Marauders.

• Hunter Lane scored 15 points in Sherburne-Earlville's 64-49 win over Waterville. Derek Buell had 15 points and eight rebounds for Waterville.

 

Oneida, Whitesboro girls

win in Tri Valley League

Ella Rainbow scored 18 points and Sydney Lusher had 17 to lead Oneida to a 75-41 win over Central Valley Academy in Tri Valley League girls basketball. Lauren Skibitski added 15 points and Kaylin Curro had 14 for Oneida.

Reilly Rich and Savannah Sommer scored 12 points each for CVA.

• Kelsey Wands scored 17 points and Whitesboro got by Rome Free Academy 46-42 in another TVL girls game. Tailyn Frost and Amya McLeod scored 14 points each for the Bloack Knights.

 

Whitesboro's hockey team

scores win over Clinton

Seven players scored goals and Cameron Manley made 25 saves to lead Whitesboro's ice hockey team to a 7-4 victory over Clinton.

Andy Hadasz and Andrew Maycock each had a goal and two assists for Whitesboro (3-2-2, 7-4-3). Noah Scranton, Andrei Terenzetti, and Troy Chamberlain all had a goal and an assist and Cole Martin and Logan Lachacz also scored.

Corbin Melie had a goal and two assists and T.J. Elsenbeck, Nolan Provost and Tyler Karuzas each had a goal and an assist for Clinton (1-4-2, 4-5-3).
