ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. – Ashley Engle scored in overtime and gave the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves a 2-1 win Wednesday against the Northville Falcons.

The teams each scored a goal in the first half and remained tied at 1 into the first 10-minute overtime period. Engle’s unassisted goal gave the Wolves the lead and they held on through the end of the first extra period and all of the second.

Bella Masi scored the first Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville goal on a penalty kick and Brytney Moore scored unassisted for Northville to tie the score.

The shots were almost even – the Wolves (8-3-3, 7-2-0 WAC) had a 17-16 advantage – and Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville goalie Ashlee Shelmandine had 10 saves to Northville’s Emily Shepard’s 11.

The Wolves played at home Friday against Mekeel Christian Academy.
