The Whitesboro girls volleyball team will have to beat East Syracuse-Minoa a third time to reach Saturday's Seciton III Class A final at Chittenango High School.

Whitesboro's Warriors, 17-1 and winners of nine straight, play East Syracuse-Minoa in a Class A semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oneida High School. The winner plays the winner of Tuesday's other semifinal — Carthage or Watertown — for the Class A title on Saturday at a time yet to be determined.

Whitesboro has beaten ES-M twice by 3-1 scores. In their first meeting on Dec. 14, Jessica Blaszak had 13 kills and 22 digs, Erin Herrmann had 36 assists, 14 digs and five aces, and Cameron Boehlert had 18 digs and eight kills in Whitesboro's 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18 victory.

On Jan. 25, Herrmann had 30 assists, nine digs and five aces and Marissa Burke had 13 kills in Whitesboro's 24-26, 25-16, 25-20, 25-0 win over the Spartans (16-3), who are coming off five straight wins, including 3-0 victories over three other Tri Valley League teams — Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Oneida and Rome Free Academy.

There is a Class B semifinal doubleheader on Wednesday at Clinton High School — Canastota plays Lowville at 5:30 and Oneida (10-7) plays Chittenango at 7 p.m.
