VERONA, N.Y. – The Central Valley Academy Thunder jumped ahead with two goals in the first half Thursday and won 3-0 at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
Aiden Day had a goal and an assist for the Thunder (4-1-0), Timmy Day and Hunter Shaut each scored a goal, and Nick Hoskey contributed an assist. Jack Hall made five saves in the third Central Valley Academy shutout of the season.
Matthew Piazza recorded eight saves for the Red Devils (2-3-1).
SAUQUOIT VALLEY 4

WINFIELD, N.Y. – The Sauquoit Valley Indians broke away from a halftime tie and defeated Mt. Markham’s Mustangs 4-1 Thursday.
Each team had one goal in the first half and the Indians scored three times after the break. Kevin Griffith had two goals for undefeated Sauquoit Valley (4-0-0), and Jacob and Trevor Worden each added a goal and an assist. Josh Ward made six saves.
David Duh scored the Mt. Markham goal, and Brad Litz made eight saves for the Mustangs (0-5-1).

POLAND, N.Y. – P.J. Mahoney and Kade Ozog each scored a pair of goals for Poland Thursday in the Tornadoes’ 7-0 win over the Owen D. Young Wildcats.
Mahoney had two assists in addition to his two goals for the unbeaten Tornadoes (4-0-0). Dale Lepper had a goal and an assist, Shawn Gillespie and Tanner Allen each scored a goal, and Isaiah Zuchowski had an assist. Connor Broadbent made three saves and Jarrett Papp added two as Poland shut out its third opponent in four matches; Poland has outscored the opposition 25-1 this season.
Jerimiah Edick made five saves and Stephen Dygert had two for Owen D. Young (0-4-0).
WEST CANADA VALLEY 1
NEWPORT, N.Y. – The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights beat West Canada Valley 3-1 on the road Thursday for their first win of the season.
Jake Spina had a goal and an assist for the Maroon Knights (1-2-0), and Josh Graziadei and Malik Colthurst each scored a goal. Jack Bono and Gio Randazzo contributed assists in the win.
Zack Zbytniewski scored the West Canada Valley goal, and Caden Ludwig had 15 saves for the Indians (0-5-0).
STOCKBRIDGE VALLEY 2
EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. – The Stockbridge Valley Cougars scored two goals in the second half Thursday and defeated Herkimer’s Magicians 2-0.
The match had been scoreless at the end of a first half that saw Magician Ben Migliore send a free kick off the post in the opening two minutes of play. Migliore later had a shot deflected over the crossbar by Stockbridge Valley goalie Wyatt Reed.
Matthew Wike scored in the 64th minute of play to give Stockbridge Valley (4-2-0) its initial 1-0 lead, and Andrew Renner added a goal two minutes later.
Reed made five saves in the third shutout of the season for the Cougars and second in a row.
Zach Williams recorded eight saves for Herkimer (0-4-0) which plays on the Herkimer College turf Saturday against the Utica Academy of Science.
