While the Utica Comets' first regular-season home game of 2017-18 isn't until November, single-game tickets will available next week.

Single-game tickets for the Comets’ 38 regular-season games at the Utica Memorial Auditorium will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 23. The team said tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium's Steet Ponte box office, which is located on Oriskany Street. Tickets will also be available at empirestatetix.com beginning at noon Sept. 23.

The price of single-game tickets remain the same as last season at $18, $20.50, $22, $24 and $28, according to the team. Tickets to games have been a popular item, with the team recording 93 consecutive sell-outs dating back to the 2014-15 season. Comets President Rob Esche told the Observer-Dispatch in July that the team's season-ticket holders have been capped at 3,500 this season.

The Comets' home-opener against the North Division rival Rochester Americans is set for Wednesday, Nov. 1, due to the extensive construction and renovation project — among the changes are the addition of suites and box seating at the Aud. With the changes to the 60-year-old downtown building, capacity for Comets' games will be approximately 4,000 this season, Esche said.

While Utica has a later home-opener, fans will have a chance to see the team play in the area before that game. Utica is set to play a home-and-home preseason series with the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Kennedy Arena in Rome, with tickets still available. The teams also play Sunday, Oct. 1, in Syracuse.

The Comets, who will have a new head coach this season in Trent Cull, open the regular season with back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7 and Oct. 8, in Toronto.
