HAMILTON, N.Y. – P.J. Mahoney scored both goals for Poland Thursday in the Tornadoes’ 2-1 win at Hamilton.

Each team scored a goal in the first half and Mahoney broke the tie with his second goal in the 57th minute of play.

Gavyn Flansburg and Quentin McKerrow each assisted on one of the Mahoney goals.

James Kattato made five saves for Poland and Mike Kelly countered with three for Hamilton. Chance Croyle scored for the Emerald Knights.

UTICA ACADEMY OF SCIENCE 1

WINFIELD, N.Y. – Three Mustangs scored multiple goals Thursday when Mt. Markham defeated the Utica Academy of Science 7-1.

Uber Ixlas had two goals and an assist for the Mustangs who led 3-0 at halftime. Boris Ixlas and Ivan Delia each scored two goals, and David Duh had a goal and an assist. Brad Litz made five saves and Jordan Baucom had one in the win.

Eldar Mujic scored in the second half for the Utica Academy of Science, and Muradif Krekic recorded 13 saves.

EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. – Two Raiders had hat tricks Thursday in Canastota’s 6-0 win over the Herkimer Magicians.

Adam Burbank and Steven Scaramuzzino each scored three goals for the Raiders who led 5-0 at halftime on the road.

Zach Williams made 13 saves for Herkimer.

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Devon Slaboc scored one goal and assisted on the other two Thursday in Westmoreland/Oriskany’s 3-0 win over Frankfort-Schuyler’s Maroon Knights.

Colton Davis and Josh Drake also scored for Westmoreland/Oriskany. John Domenico contributed an assist.

Walter Siegenthaler recorded six saves for Frankfort-Schuyler (0-2-0).

WATERVILLE, N.Y. – The Waterville Indians advanced to play for the championship at their annual Brothertown Optimist Tournament with a 5-1 win over Little Falls in Thursday’s opening round.

Camden was a 2-1 winner in overtime against Brookfield in the first match Thursday. Little Falls and Brookfield meet in the 3 p.m. consolation match Saturday with the girls’ championship match between Little Falls and Waterville to follow. The boys’ match between Waterville and Camden completes the quadrupleheader at Brothertown Stadium.

Brandon English had two goals and two assists, and Austin Hutchins also scored two goals for Waterville which led 2-0 at halftime Thursday. Jeremy Lakata scored the other goal, and Jacob Barth assisted on two goals. Keith Prindle made five saves.

Jason Gehring scored in the second half for Little Falls. Nicky Visconti made eight saves and was credited with an assist on the Gehring goal.
