ILION, N.Y. – Central Valley Academy earned its first win of the season Wednesday when Kerissa Marquissee scored both goals in a 2-1 victory against the Oneida Indians.

Marquissee scored the first goal of the game and later broke a 1-1 tie with her second tally of the contest. Ally Hyde and Anna Engel each had an assist for the Thunder (1-3-0, 1-1-0 TVL), and Erika Maine made five saves.

Nina Magziocca scored for Oneida and Reilly White recorded three saves.

Central Valley Academy is entered in Whitesboro’s tournament Friday and Saturday, and the Thunder takes on the host school Friday at 6:30 p.m. following a game between Little Falls and Liverpool.

WINFIELD, N.Y. – Canastota got two goals from Julia DiVeronica Wednesday and defeated the Mt. Markham Mustangs 3-0.

Leanne Hannan made one save in the shutout for the Raiders who led 1-0 at halftime. Shelby Kilts scored a goal, and McKenzie Hertel and Shannon Nirrelhi each had an assist.

Emily Otis made 10 saves and Carly Curtis had one for Mt. Markham.
