A championship bout will be part of the mixed martial arts event Friday, Oct. 14 at Turning Stone Resort Casino.

The main event of the competition, which is known as "Empire Rising," will feature 24-year-old John Castaneda (11-2) and 27-year-old Gustavo Lopez (6-1) battling for Combat Americas' world bantamweight (135 pounds) championship, according to a news release. It will be the first championship bout in the organization's history.

Additional bouts will be announced later for the event at Turning Stone's Event Center, which will be one of the first venues in New York to host professional MMA fights. It was announced Sept. 2 that Combat Americas would present six pro fights with another organization, Tuff-N-Uff, adding six amateur bouts. The event will also be shown on UFC FIGHT PASS and beIN SPORTS En Espanol.

Tickets for the event are on sale and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Box Office, by calling 877.833.SHOW. They are also available at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets for the event are priced at $75, $65, $50 and $35 and may be subject to additional fees. Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. for the event. The first preliminary bout is set to begin at 6 p.m.
