The Oneida tennis team lost a bevy of senior talent from last year’s team, but the Indians haven’t lost a step on the court.

Oneida, winner of three straight Section III championships, cruised to a 6-1 win Wednesday over TVL rival New Hartford. Spartans junior Sarah Corasanti posted the lone win for her team with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bri Laureti.

Lauren Skibitski and Sydney Lusher each grabbed wins in singles with straight-sets victories. The doubles teams of Kylie Chesebro and Anna Hood and Madeline Tallman and Mattie Hicks also earned wins in straight sets.

Oneida tandems Emily Marshall and Kathryn Brown and Molly Moyer and Meghan Friske were pushed to three sets, but came away victorious.

The Indians, who haven’t lost a match since Sept. 19, 2014, improved to 3-0 on the season and will take on Notre Dame on Friday. The Spartans are off until Monday, when they will host Proctor.
