ADAMS, N.Y. – The Central Valley Academy Thunder led 12 -0 in the first quarter and shut South Jefferson out until the fourth in Friday’s season-opening 34-7 Class B East victory.

Adam Klosner ran for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Thunder. Klosner opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run, and Gunnar Holmberg ran 14 yards for a score later in the opening period.

The score remained 12-0 through halftime before Central Valley Academy struck twice more in the third quarter. Klosner ran 28 yards for his second touchdown before Josh Panko scored on a 19-yard run. Josh Klosner ran for the Thunder’s first successful conversion after Panko’s touchdown.

Josh Klosner, who finished with 94 yards on the ground, ran 14 yards for a touchdown of his own and added another two-point run in the fourth quarter.

Brendan LeVac threw to Chris Perkins for the lone South Jefferson score late in the fourth quarter.
