Political letters are welcome but must follow specific guidelines.
Tell us why your candidate is best, but if you make charges against an opponent, you'll need to support those charges with documentation. Either attribute it or send along the source of your information. Otherwise, your letter will not be published.
• All letters must include your name, address and a daytime phone number where you can be reached for verification. Be sure to keep letters to the maximum 200 words. Shorter letters are better and are usually able to be published sooner.
• Deadline on letters for the Tuesday, Nov. 6, election is Wednesday. We will attempt to publish all letters that are able to be verified by Sunday, Nov. 4.
Letters can be sent by email (email@example.com), regular mail (Letters to the Editor, the Observer-Dispatch, 221 Oriskany Plaza, Utica, NY 13501), fax (315-792-5033) or delivered in person. Any questions, call Opinion page editor Dave Dudajek at 792-5090, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
