What would you say are the biggest issues facing the area you seek to represent and how would you address those?

If elected, I would prioritize job creation, scrutinize county spending to target ways to be more efficient while maintaining the same level of services, and bolster infrastructure improvements.

I want to help create an environment in which job creators can thrive, so we can keep our young people right here in an affordable, prosperous economy. I believe my neighbors feel the same way. A thriving local economy will help reduce the tax burden on our residents.

Oneida County must continue to manage spending wisely.

The county’s highway and bridge network is vital. Crumbling roads affect not only our national reputation, but our economic development and even our safety.

In addition, the prescription opioid and heroin overdose epidemic rightly deserves more attention. I applaud the new structure of the Oneida County Opioid Task Force. The $600,000 Bureau of Justice Assistance grant recently awarded to our county will help the local fight against this scourge.

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

I care deeply about the district I hope to represent.

I’ve been living here a lot of years and I want to give something back. I will bring fresh eyes and fresh ears to the county Legislature. I want to contribute in enthusiastic, positive ways.

I have deep community ties and considerable experience working with youth and school sports groups, Kiwanis, and Safe Schools Mohawk Valley Build A Bike program. These connections afforded me the opportunity to build relationships.

I listen to others and I want to learn. I am focused on what’s best for the people.

I have demonstrated a consistent dedication to my community and will make sure the issues and concerns of constituents are heard at the county level.

I can be effective voice for the people of the 9th District.

What would you say are the biggest issues facing the area you seek to represent and how would you address those?

I believe the biggest issue facing the areas I represent, would be promoting ways to continue to keep Oneida County sales tax revenue strong. County sales tax revenue is the largest income to the town’s and village’s budgets. One way to promote sales tax revenue is to support initiatives, such as the Nexus Center near the Adirondack Bank Center. The U-District Nexus Center will draw 300,000 visitors to our county yearly. This will create 26 million dollars in new spending. This new spending will support local restaurants, hotels, and shopping outlets. This revenue will bring in sales tax dollars that are vital to our county, cities, towns, and villages.

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

I believe I am the best candidate to represent the 9th Legislative District. Experience is important, but most important are the results created from that experience. Some of these accomplishments include:

• Secured funding from the Oneida County ARGO program to assist the former Villages of Prospect and Barneveld with their disillusion process

• Secured over $60,000 in funding for the Trenton joint fire district to create compatible self-contained breathing apparatus

• Secured $31,000 in funding to purchase a 4-wheeled drive service vehicle for the Prospect/Barneveld water districts

• Six consecutive years of a 0% County Tax Levy
