The Oriskany Falls Rotary Club is inviting the public to come out for a fun event to support a good cause.

Their second annual End Polio Now party kicks off at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Hotel Solsville. Chapter president Deda Purdy said there will be at least three live bands, including perennial favorite one-man band Joe Kidd and Family Tradition, plus raffles and free snacks.

Purdy said the Hotel Solsville will be offering a special of $2 for cans of beer.

“People can use that extra dollar as a donation,” she suggested.

Rotarians will “pass the hat” to collect a free-will donation for the cause of eradicating polio worldwide. Those donations will be tripled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The party also gives the Rotary the chance to thank their friends and neighbors.

“This is also kind of the Rotary’s way to give back to the community,” Purdy said. “We want to thank everyone for their support … come out, enjoy the music and the Hotel Solsville and plan on having fun.”
