LEE — A 43-year-old Blossvale man who fled on foot as police were investigating a Saturday morning motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian was located Saturday night, according to police reports.
Deputies say around 11:56 a.m. Saturday, Steven Allen was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion on Brookfield Road in Lee when the vehicle struck 20-year-old Lee resident Hanna Casadei who was walking her dog.
“While investigating the accident, deputies on scene learned that Allen had fled the scene on foot, into a nearby wooded area. A passenger in the vehicle, Sarah Vaughn, 37, of Rome also sustained injuries in the accident. Vaughn confirmed that Allen was the operator of the vehicle,” a report reads.
By 7:30 p.m. deputies announced Allen had been located during a traffic stop on Lee Valley Road in Lee and issued several traffic tickets relating to the incident. All tickets are returnable to the Town of Lee Court at a later date.
Casadei was transported to the St. Elizabeth's campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System for evaluation of hip and leg injuries. Vaughn was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluation of an arm injury.
All injuries are considered minor in nature, deputies reported.
