UTICA — The Utica Comets welcomes back its fans by presenting a two-day Oktoberfest plaza party that will kick off its opening weekend on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, 400 Oriskany St. West.

The party will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, with a ceremonial keg tap, and continue until the puck drop on Friday as the Comets defend Calder Cup champion Charlotte Checkers at 7 p.m., before reopening on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Comets season ticket members are able to purchase a presale single day pass for $10 or a weekend pass for $15. Presale tickets for non-season ticket members are $13 for single day, and $18 for a weekend pass. Ticket prices will increase on the day of the event. Your ticket purchase gets you free and unlimited German-style food, access to Labatt kegs, and a limited-edition Comets stein that you can fill for $5 per pint and $10 per liter. Ticket purchasers also will have access to exclusive games, contests, activities and prizes.

Both days will be filled with live music and plenty of activities across the Adirondack Bank Center plaza and 72 Tavern. If you think you have what it takes to wrestle with the best, then try your luck at an official arm-wrestling competition. Registration and preliminary rounds will take place at 72 Tavern, with the semifinals and finals on the main stage on the plaza. Fans also can compete in Masskrugstemmen (stein-holding contest), and other carnival-style games.

On Saturday afternoon, enjoy a red-carpet entrance of the full 2019-2020 Utica Comets roster as they thank the fans for their support. Fans also will have the chance to mingle with Comets mascot “Audie,” the Clinton Comets and the new 2019-20 Sitrin Comettes. Later that night, the Comets will be in action when they take on the division rival Rochester Americans at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased online at empirestatetix.com or in person at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium Box Office.
