BRIDGEWATER SENIORS:

What a beautiful day we had when we took our last one-day bus trip of the year with the Bridgewater Seniors to Lake George.

It is always a nice ride up there and with the leaves just starting to change the scenery was so pretty.

When we arrived in Lake George we went right to the steel pier and got ready to board the Lac du Saint Searement, which was a very large boat. We have never been on this boat before as we always went on smaller ones – this was like a small ship.

Before we would start our two-hour cruise, we got to enjoy a buffet lunch. We had soup, assorted salads, sandwiches, beverage and dessert. They had ham, roast beef and turkey for our sandwiches. We got plenty to eat and it was very good.

Then with lunch over, we headed out on our two-hour cruise and got to see many interesting places along the lake. A lot of beautiful homes have been built along the lake as well as hotels. We saw a beautiful waterfall and it was fun to hear stories about the area. It was a nice, smooth cruise and you didn’t even realize you were on a boat.

Our tour would continue as we stopped at Oscar’s Adirondack Smokehouse. Here, we could purchase smoked meats and cheese and a lot of people came back on the bus with a package.

Aubrey got some bacon and when we cooked it later, it was delicious. If you watch the Rachael Ray Show this is one of her favorite places to shop. We found it very nice too.

Then we would continue on to make a stop at Adirondack Winery. Here, we would get the chance to sample a variety of wines and you could also sample olive oil. Believe it or not, they do have various flavors of olive oil. If they wanted, the group got to sample both of them but I think the wine was the favorite for some of them.

The day went by quickly and it was time to head home. What a beautiful trip this was and one everyone enjoyed. Thanks to Anna and our bus driver Warren who always makes our trips special for us.

The last bus trip for our group will be a casino trip in October but we don’t go with them. We hope all that do go will have a fun time and come home a winner.
