Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol has endorsed County Executive Anthony Picente Jr. as Picente seeks another term in this coming election.
Picente, a Republican, is running against Democrat Michael Hennessy for a fourth term. Over the course of his time in office, Picente and Maciol have worked together on several initiatives, such as consolidating the county 911 center and creating a countywide records management system, according to Picente's campaign.
"Together, County Executive Picente and I have built a partnership that allows us to make this community a safer place and I’m honored to endorse him for re-election so we can continue the important work we have done together," said Maciol, a Democrat, in a release. "Together we have created an Animal Abuser Registry and the Opiate Task Force and placed special patrol officers in our schools, all while increasing training, recruitment and funding for the Sheriff’s Office.”
