The Mohawk Valley Regional and Economic Development Council is hosting a series of workshops and information sessions for people and businesses interested in applying for funding through this year's Regional Economic Development Council awards offered by the state.

The workshops will feature program and process overviews followed by a Q&A session, the Mohawk Valley REDC announced Thursday. Information sessions, meanwhile, are hosted by Empire State Development staff to take questions.

This year will mark the ninth round for the competition with $750 million in awards across 10 regions.

Here is the schedule for the local workshops:

• Friday: 1 to 4 p.m. at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute, 100 Seymour Road, Utica

• June 17: 1 to 4 p.m. at Herkimer County Community College, 100 Reservoir Road, Herkimer

Here is the schedule for the information sessions:

• Tuesday: 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, 139 W. Dominick St., Rome

• May 29: 5 to 7 p.m. at the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce, 520 Seneca St., Utica
