COOPERSTOWN — The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival will kick off its 21st season with a spring concert of chamber music for wind and string instruments at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Christ Episcopal Church, 46 River St.

The concert, titled “Conversations: Music for Flute, Oboe and Strings” will feature Festival Artistic Director and flutist Linda Chesis performing alongside some of New York’s most esteemed chamber musicians, including oboist James Austin Smith, violinist Anna Elashvili, violist Melissa Reardon and cellist Mihai Marica, on a program centered around the theme of chamber music as a conversation.

Travel to classical Vienna, 1920s London, mid-century Buenos Aires and back with a program of chamber music masterworks that feature string and wind instruments in conversation with one another that includes works by Mozart, Sussmayr, Ginastera, Bliss and Schubert.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students.
