Membership here at the Chenango Water Exercise Group (CWEG) is vital to our success. We are reaching out to people all the time and one of our main ways is hopefully by readers who see this column. Whether they are opting for the six-month membership to try us out or joining for a full year we are very happy to see new faces. The office gets calls regularly from people inquiring about what it takes to join. So, a refresher in the process is in order.

We need three forms completed in order for CWEG to have all the paperwork it needs. First is a doctor’s permission form completed by your physician that conveys that both parties are aware of the plan to get into an exercise routine. Then there is a general health screening form (that the participant can fill out) and finally a signed waiver to get you started. All of these forms can be provided by us either on-line at cwegswim.org or mailed or emailed to you.

The fee for a full year (three days a week, 48 weeks a year) is $250 due when joining and there is also a $30 one-time evaluation fee. Our other option is a six-month membership for $175 all-inclusive which will need to be renewed regularly or replaced at the end of the term by a full-time membership. Once those forms are completed a person can come on down and get in to the water.

A bathing suit is a must and we certainly recommend water shoes. Participants are responsible for their own towels and toiletries but we provide the equipment used in the classes we offer. Volunteers will get you started and as you become acclimated to the program you can move into the routines that fit best for your needs. Our goal is to make the workout fit into your day and become a regular process.
