The monthly senior citizen “Lunch Out” sponsored by the Madison County Office for the Aging was held Jan. 8 at Quacks Diner in Madison. The next “Lunch Out” will be Feb. 12. These events are scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month and are open to any senior citizen, age 60 or over, in Madison County. To make a reservation, call the Office for the Aging at 315-697-5700. The cost is $6.

The boys varsity basketball team is scheduled to play Otselic Valley at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 12 at Morrisville State College. The varsity wrestling team also has a tournament that day at VVS starting at 10 a.m. The girls varsity basketball team is scheduled to play neighboring rival Stockbridge at home at 6 p.m. Jan.14. Make sure you check the website at for cancellations or changes in the sports schedule as the weather may play a part in any changes.

The next board of education meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15. There will also be a Hypnotist Show at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at the school. All County is Jan. 18 and 19 at Oneida High School. These concerts are always great so if you are free on the 19th, don’t miss it.

The next Town of Madison Historical Society dance is from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at their building on South Street. The Nelson Brothers will perform. Refreshments will be available, including homemade pies.

Kudos to our wonderful Madison FFA chapter for its charitable donations this holiday season. The chapter was instrumental in the donation of 120 gallons of milk to the Rome Rescue Mission. Read all about it in the Jan. 3 edition of the Mid-York Weekly.
