UTICA — The Oneida County Department of Social Services is currently recruiting caseworkers to fill several vacancies, according to a news release.

The main job responsibility is providing social work services for individuals and families. The starting salary for the position is $38,551.

“The caseworker position at the Oneida County Department of Social Services is a rewarding, entry level position for human service professionals looking to help facilitate positive change for our residents,” Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. said in the release. “Working collaboratively with adults, children and families, caseworkers assess risk and safety while working to empower individuals and families toward improved well-being.”

Applicants must have graduated from a regionally-accredited or New York-registered college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented with 12 credit hours in social work or a closely related field or one year of full-time experience in social casework with a public or private agency.

Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, and should be submitted to the Oneida County Personnel Office.

A civil service test date is set for March 14.
