Notre Dame named new leadership

Notre Dame Schools announced that Vincent Gilroy Jr. has been elected as the school’s new Board of Trustee President.

He replaces James Joseph who served as the first Board of Trustee President for Notre Dame Schools in 2012. In September 2017, Joseph was named special assistant to the president of LeMoyne College and stepped down from the Notre Dame Board effective Dec. 31, 2018.

A 1974 Notre Dame graduate, Gilroy is a certified public accountant who owns his own firm. He also serves as the chairman of the Utica Harbor Point Development Corporation.

Gilroy sited one of his main objectives as board president is to reconnect Utica Catholic Academy, St. Francis de Sales and Notre Dame alumni with Notre Dame.

Luppino completes basic training

Air Force Airman Joseph Luppino graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Luppino is the son of Martin and Jamieanne Luppino of Mohawk, and a 2018 graduate of Herkimer High School.
