ROME — A Utica man was arrested Friday on charges that he assaulted and raped a woman over the course of several hours, according to the Rome Police Department.

Wallis A. Flagg, also known as Keem Flagg, was charged with felony first-degree rape as well as third-degree assault and petit larceny, both misdemeanors.

Police said the 30-year-old is accused of physically assaulting the woman in Rome starting Wednesday evening and continuing into early Thursday morning. During the assault, Flagg allegedly had unwanted sexual intercourse with the woman, according to the police department.

Flagg is being held without bail in the Oneida County Jail.

Police said the Rome Police Department was assisted by the Utica Police Department to make the arrest.
