UTICA — A Utica man has been charged with 3rd-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a release by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

David Moody was involved in an incident that occurred in the city of Utica involving a 15-year-old victim, deputies said, and was subsequently arrested by members of the Utica Police Department Criminal Investigations and Oneida County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said Moody was taken to the Utica jail pending arraignment in Utica City Court.

An order of protection was requested for the victim against Moody, officials said, and the victim was offered counseling services through the Oneida County Advocacy Center.
