A suspect reportedly is in custody after Mohawk Valley Community College reported a possible gunman on campus this morning.

MVCC students received a text message just before 11:15 a.m. advising them to shelter in place due to a possible armed gunman on campus.

"There may be an armed gunman on campus shelter in place immediately," reads the message, received just before 11:15 a.m.

About 10 minutes later, students received another text message giving them the all clear.

"All Clear. The suspect is in custody. All Clear," that message reads.

No additional information was provided in the texts and as of 11:25 a.m. nothing had been posted to the college's website or Twitter feed about the incident.

Campus officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Oneida County 911 log shows there was a call for an "attempt to locate" at MVCC's Utica campus just after 10:30 a.m.
