Morrisville State connected with the back of the net twice in the second half, despite a late goal for the Nittany Lions with 7:10 left to go in the game, to earn a 2-1 win over visiting Penn State-Berks on Saturday, Oct. 6. Freshman midfielder Puan Aung recorded his first collegiate goal to secure the win for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs had several chances to get on the scoreboard early in the first half. But both teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.

Junior forward, Kossi Philippe Nodjo gave the Mustangs the 1-0 lead with 39:32 left in the second half. Sophomore defender, Moe Win flew up the right side of the field, passing several Berks defenders and crossing the ball to Nodjo, netting the first goal of the game.

Aung gave Morrisville State the eventual game-winning goal with 14:03 left in the contest, netting the goal off of a feed from Toyi Hakizmana to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.

MSC sophomore goalkeeper, Cody Welkley recorded his third win of the season, recording 3 saves in 90 minute of play.

The Mustangs return to action Saturday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest against Penn College of Technology; game begins at 3 p.m.
