The state Department of Transportation has issued the following travel advisories that take effect in the near future:
• Weather permitting, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, through Wednesday, Sept. 26 (excluding Saturday and Sunday), motorists traveling on Route 294 between the Village of Boonville and the Oneida County line will encounter alternating lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic during the asphalt paving operation.
• Starting at 7 a.m., from Monday, Sept. 24, through Thursday, Nov.1, the Route 169 Bridge over Stony Creek in the town of Fairfield in Herkimer County will be closed to thru-traffic while the bridge is replaced.
Residents on both sides of Route 169 will have access to their driveways. Variable message signs have been in operation notifying local motorists of the bridge closure due to the bridge replacement project. Signed detours will be used to direct traffic to detour routes.
• On Monday, Sept. 17, and Tuesday Sept. 18, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day weather permitting, motorists traveling on Route 31 between Route 5 (Seneca Street) and Youngs Road at the Route 13/Route 31 split will encounter alternating lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic during the asphalt paving operation.
