ILION — With renovations scheduled to take place at Gregory B. Jarvis Middle School the next two years, the Central Valley Central School District has announced the planned arrival and dismissal times expected of its teachers and students.
The district’s middle school consists of students in grades 5-8, with grades 5 and 6 at Barringer Road Elementary School and grades 7 and 8 at Central Valley Academy.
Middle school teachers will be in the building from 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with the instructional day going from 7:25 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.
There will be different start times for different grades at Barringer Road Elementary. Doors will open for students in grades 3 and 4 for breakfast at 8 a.m., with the school day going from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
For students in grades 5 and 6 at Barringer Road Elementary, doors will open at 6:55 a.m. for breakfast, with their school day going from 7:25 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. Fifth- and sixth-grade students will arrive at the school and go to the cafeteria where they will be dismissed to their advisory class. Advisory will begin at 7:25 a.m.
For students in grades 7 and 8 at Central Valley Academy, the doors will open at 7 a.m. for breakfast. At 7:30 a.m., seventh- and eighth-grade students will be dismissed from the cafeteria and report to their lockers to gather their supplies for the morning before going to their first period classroom. First period will begin at 7:40 a.m., with the school day lasting until 2:09 p.m.
High school students in grades 9-12 at Central Valley Academy will also be able to go to school at 7 a.m. for breakfast and will have a 7:40 a.m.to 2:09 p.m. school day.
At Harry M. Fisher Elementary School, which won’t have any middle school students but only students in pre-kindergarten through second-grade, doors will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast with the school day going from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
