UTICA — Grammy-nominated reggae/rock band Rebelution kicks off their Free Rein Summer Tour with special guests Stephen Marley, Common Kings, Zion I and DJ Mackle and will be making a stop in Utica as part of the Saranac Jams Summer Concert Series.

The concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the F.X. Matt Brewery Co., 830 Varick St.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The tour is in support of their sixth studio album, "Free Rein," which came out June 15. With this album, the band teamed up with acclaimed producers Don Corlean (Rihanna, Sean Paul) and Winta James (Damian Marley, Chronixx).

The 12 tracks on the LP fuse Rebelution’s classic reggae sound with genres spanning R&B, rock, jazz and folk, which make this their most diverse album to date and have garnered praise from Billboard, Forbes and others.

The collection of songs shines a spotlight on the band’s evocative songwriting, incendiary playing and timely lyrical commentary. The bold move from the powerhouse band proves their artistry and experimental prowess, though their signature laidback Summery reggae sound still shines through.

All ages are welcome.

Tickets are $35.
