HERKIMER — The Herkimer Board of Education reorganized during a meeting last week.

Sharon Judd was appointed district clerk and Regina Frasier was appointed district treasurer, with authorization of a surety bond. Judd was appointed deputy treasurer with authorization of a surety bond and was designated to sign in the absence of the district treasurer.

Sarah Hein was appointed to claims auditor. Brenda Spanfelner was appointed as the receiving agent at Herkimer Elementary School and Cristina Chilelli at Herkimer High School on an as needed basis. Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, per the service agreement, was appointed as district physician. Raymond G. Preusser, CPA, PC, was appointed as independent auditor.

Hogan, Sarzynski, Lynch, Dwind and Gregory, LLP, was appointed as the school attorney, with the understanding the superintendent is also authorized to contract with local legal counsel at his discretion, when appropriate. Haylor, Freyer and Coon, Inc. were appointed as insurance advisor and Hodgson Russ Attorneys as financial advisor.

The following designation appointments were made during the meeting: The Town of Herkimer as the school tax collector; building principals and designee assistant principals were named supervisors of attendance and dignity act coordinators; Cristi Paragi as athletic director; Heather McCutcheon as Arts in Education coordinator; Michelle Ploss as records access officer, records management officer, Title IX compliance officer, Section 504 American with Disabilities Act officer and Homeless Children Foster Care coordinator; district Superintendent Robert Miller was named as census enumerator, chief emergency officer, Herkimer County health insurance designee and residency officer.

The Committee on Special Education includes chairperson Bethany Rickard. Lindsey Ferguson is the school psychologist and the Committee on Preschool Special Education will include Bethany Rickard as chairperson. Robert Walker will be the asbestos designee. Ploss will also serve as the Medicaid claims officer and the incarcerated youth coordinator.

Adirondack Bank will be the official depository, Zachary Abbe will be the extra-classroom faculty auditor and Susan Steele will be the treasurer for extra-classroom activities. The Time Telegram was named the official newspaper.

The superintendent of schools will be the certifier of payroll and purchasing agent.
