A sheriff’s correction officer is facing charges after allegedly bringing contraband into the correctional facility for inmates, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators were conducting an investigation into contraband coming into the jail, officials said, and through their investigation found that an officer was bringing it in.
Breland Warmack, 31, of Utica, was arrested for bringing marijuana into the facility, deputies said, and was charged with promoting prison contraband.
Warmack will appear in Whitestown Court at a later date, officials said.
Deputies said that the investigation is still ongoing.
