LENOX — A roundabout is in the plans for the intersection of state routes 13 and 31 in Lenox.
In August 2017, a public information meeting was conducted by the state Department of Transportation to devise a solution for the busy intersection, where the town of Lenox meets the roadway to Sylvan Beach.
Since then, design work has been done and the project was put out to bid at the end of March.
"Route 13 at Route 31 Intersection improvements (roundabout, signs, guide rail, lighting and drainage)" in the town of Lenox, reads a brief project description of a construction project bidding portal.
More specifics are expected to be released in the coming weeks from the DOT, said spokesman James Piccola.
"We hope to have the project awarded within the next month with construction starting in June," Piccola wrote in an email.
Previously, DOT officials said work was expected to wrap up by the fall.
