UTICA — Hundreds of people are expected to join a fundraiser Saturday to help premature babies get “the best possible start.”
March for Babies Mohawk Valley is a 3.5-mile walk on Mohawk Valley Community College’s Utica campus at 1101 Sherman Drive. Registration begins at 10 a.m.; the walk starts at 11 a.m.
The event is organized by March of Dimes, and is the organization's largest annual fundraiser, according to a news release.
“March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. We support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy so that every baby can have the best possible start,” the release states.
As of Wednesday, the event had raised more than $30,000 toward its $50,000 goal, according to its website.
