Cinderella's Closet had another successful Prom Fashion Show and Open House Saturday, April 7, in Hamilton. Area high school students volunteered their time to model a variety of prom dresses from its collection to allow the audience to have a preview of their dress options.
Susan Belasco provided professional photographs of models and guests in their gowns and created a slideshow of the event. Local businesses donated door prizes which were given away to prom goers as additional ways to defray the expense of prom night. Prom trivia and beautiful singing by Sophie Shiner kept guests entertained.
And best of all, almost everyone who attended left with a spectacular dream dress, ready for prom, all free of charge. Organizers were able to help high school girls from 10 area schools “yes to the dress!”
Cinderella's Closet would like to thank all who have helped make this program thrive including everyone who has donated dresses, the Hamilton Public Library who allowing the organization to keep their drop box there and calling when it is full, the members of Hamilton Bible Fellowship who help in numerous ways, models and escorts, Susan Belasco and Sally Packard for volunteering photography skills, Candelairia Mejia Barrera for the delicious cupcakes, and local businesses and individuals who donated gift cards for door prizes including Rusch's Bar and Grill, Price Chopper, Linda Gorton, Flour and Salt Bakery and Magro's.
Cinderella's Closet offers long and short, formal and semi-formal dresses to anyone who needs a dress throughout the year. There is no charge for dresses but it is asked that they be returned so that they can continue to be enjoyed by others. To schedule an appointment, call 315-824-3295 or 315-825-5004.
