U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney has secured an endorsement from the Conservative Party of New York in her run for re-election, Tenney's office announced Monday.

Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long said in a statement that Tenney earned the organization's support through her commitment to protecting the Second Amendment, advocating for veterans and supporting small businesses.

Tenney, R-New Hartford, was previously endorsed by the Republican committees of all eight counties in New York's 22nd Congressional District as well as the United Mine Workers of America Local 717, which represents Remington Arms employees.

She is running against Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, D-Utica.
