Board accepts donation for concert series

Tri-Valley Beverage and Davidson Auto Group offered donations to the city for the 2018 Summer Monday Night Concert Series.

Davidson Auto Group and Tri-Valley Beverage will each be giving $1,500 to the city, totaling $3,000.

The Rome Common Council accepted the donation during its last meeting.

Council OKs payment on property

The council voted to pay outstanding property taxes on Humble Lane Roadbed due to an error. The property at 7651 Gifford Road, is taxed $6,021.78, which will be paid by the city now that the resolution has been passed by the council.

N. Washington Street to be closed for Spring Fling

In order to allow for food truck vendors to participate in the upcoming Spring Fling, the council approved the closure of N. Washington Street. The street will be closed between W. Dominick Street and Gigliotti Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28.

Approval is contingent upon those food truck vendors providing the city with a certificate of insurance in the amount of $1 million per occurrence for bodily injury and death/property damage and a minimum general aggregate coverage of $2 million, naming the city of Rome as an additional insured and holding the city harmless from any and all liability.
