UTICA — After serving more than 14 years as Oneida County Public Defender-Civil, Frank Furno has retired, according to information from Oneida County.

“It truly has been my pleasure to work with the county administration, the other professional department heads and the dedicated workers throughout county government in my call to serve the indigent in distress in our county family courts,” Furno said in a release. 

Furno was appointed to the position on Jan. 20, 2004.

Recently, Furno oversaw the launch of the digitization of applications, case management and recordkeeping, according to the county.

“For the past 14 years Frank Furno has served the people of Oneida County admirably and his good work will long be remembered,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr.
