BOONVILLE — Two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident Saturday on Route 12, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

At about 11 a.m., George Patterson, no age or address provided, was getting ready to pass a vehicle with an attached snowmobile trailer operated by James Clark, no age or address provided, when Clark also pulled into the passing lane just south of the Route 28 on-ramp to Route 12, deputies said.

Due to the time and distance between the two vehicles, Paterson could not stop in time and crashed into the rear of Clark's snowmobile trailer before glancing off it and colliding with Clark's pickup truck, deputies said.

Clark complained of shoulder pain and was taken by Old Forge Ambulance to St. Luke's Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System, officials said.

A passenger in Patterson's vehicle, Sandra Albert, had to be extricated. She had neck, back, arm and leg pain and transported to St. Elizabeth Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System by Boonville Ambulance.

State police and Forestport firefighters also responded.
