The Utica Zoo is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join its team of docents. Docents assist with education classes both on and off zoo grounds, act as a zoo ambassador, educates visitors on important conservation topics, leads guided educational tours, helps during special events and participates in animal enrichment activities.

Anyone interested in becoming a docent must be 18 years of age or older and complete the Docent Training Course scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, March 3, and 10.

The fee for the course is $20 for zoo members and $25 for nonmembers and includes materials, t-shirt, name badge and your first year of docent dues.

Docents pay an annual fee of $10 to the Docent Organization that is used for enrichment, activities and more.
