The Morrisville-Eaton girls volleyball team defeated Fabius-Pompey 3-2 (25-16, 16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 27-29) in the Section III Class D semifinals played Feb. 13 in Clinton and will advance to this weekend’s finals. The Lady Warriors will now take on No. 4 seed DeRuyter at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Chittenango.

The team finished their regular season No. 1 in the Center State Conference league with a regular season record of 11-1 and an overall record of 15-3.

Led by seniors Emma Baker and Emily LeBlanc, the team had their best season finish in over three years.

During the regular season, LeBlanc reached a personal goal of over 1,000 assists and leads the league and all sections for assists. She has recorded 723 assists for this season to date and her coach says she is "one of the most committed, hard working, focused leaders a coach could ask for."

The girls were seeded No. 2 in Class D and had a first-round bye in the sectional playoffs. They defeated Waterville 3-0 in the quarterfinals Feb. 8 by scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-23.
