Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, D-Utica, and state Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-Rome, will again provide applications for an annual scholarship program for students attending college in the upcoming academic year, according to a news release.

There are two athletic and two academic scholarships, each for $3,000, available through the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators scholarship program. Applications are available by contacting Griffo’s office at (315) 793-9072, or Brindisi’s office at (315) 732-1055.

Completed applications are due by Friday, April 13.

Applicants must demonstrate the following, according to Monday's announcement:

• A grade point average of 85 or above.

• Financial need.

• Participation in community service and school activities.

• Good conduct and the willingness to pursue a higher education degree. Applicants must be attending college in the 2018-19 school year.

• Residency within Griffo's or Brindisi's legislative districts.

The winners will be announced in May. A formal awards ceremony will take place June 4 at the conference's annual Italian-American Day in Albany.
