HERKIMER — Two people were arrested Thursday after state police searched a suspected meth lab in the town of Schuyler.

Members the state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, state police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team and troopers from the Herkimer barracks executed the search warrant at 121 Bono Blvd. in the town of Schuyler Thursday.

Amee L. Johnson, 29, and James M. Mitchell Jr., 30, were arrested for third-degree unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine, a class D felony. Police said the arrests are the result of an investigation into the manufacturing and sale of methamphetamine.

Investigators seized methamphetamine, packaging materials, several active "one pots" and a lab that was located in a shed at the rear of the property.

The state police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team conducted a cleanup and removed the methamphetamine manufacturing components and hazardous materials from the shed.

Mitchell was arraigned in Schuyler Town Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail due to two previous felony convictions, police said.

Johnson was also arraigned in Schuyler Town Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County jail in lieu of $2000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond, police said.
