ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. – The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves held off Middleburgh in the fourth quarter Wednesday and defeated the Knights 60-52.

The Wolves, winner of five straight games and ranked 16th in the state in Class D by the New York State Sportswriters Association, outscored their guests 18-8 in the first quarter and led by 14 points at the start of the fourth.

Devyn Jones led Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville with 20 points and grabbed five rebounds. Tyler Leon added 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Jack Brundage had 11 points and seven assists.

Peyton Olsen scored 24 points to lead Middleburgh. Taylor Olsen added 13 points.

NEWPORT,N.Y. – The West Canada Valley Indians rolled to a 69-30 win over Dolgeville Wednesday in a game rescheduled from Monday.

The Indians outscored the Blue Devils by more than 10 points in each of the first two quarters and led 37-14 at halftime. Jacob Smith and Matt Tobin led West Canada Valley with 12 points each while Cory Collard and Paul Ward each chipped in with nine.

Dylan Walrath’s six points led Dolgeville.

GEORGETOWN, N.Y. – The Poland Tornadoes were 65-45 winners at Otselic Valley Wednesday.

The Tornadoes took a five-point lead at halftime and outscored their hosts 37-22 after the break.

P.J. Mahoney had 16 points to lead Poland which had four players in double figures in scoring. Joe Grimaldi and Dylan Miller each scored 13 points, and Jordan LaSalle had 11.

Clayton O’Hara led Otselic Valley with 12 points. Devin Stone added 10 points while Tanner Costa and Trent McCarthy each scored nine.
