Rome – A man was arrested Thursday following a burglary investigation, according to a news release from the Rome Police Department.

Police said an officer was responding to a burglary complaint in the 1300 block of North Madison Street when he observed a vehicle being operated by a person known to have a suspended license. The officer also recognized the two other people in the vehicle.

The officer stopped the vehicle and found property that matched the description of items stolen from the burglary, authorities said.

Police arrested Gerald D. Allen, 30, and charged him with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Allen is being held pending arraignment in Rome City Court on Friday.
